East Yorkshire Motor Services (EYMS) has teamed-up with the HEYwoods Initiative to form a partnership that delivers a tree planting programme along the most important road corridors in the East Riding of Yorkshire and Kingston upon Hull area. The project sees EYMS making an annual financial contribution to new tree planting along the major bus routes throughout the area. The scheme will be delivered in partnership with HEYwoods.
The project has been developed to provide the full range of environmental, social and economic benefits that new tree planting along major transport corridors can bring to the area, ensuring that those trees planted are managed and maintained long into the future.
The first phase of tree planting work under this project took place in early-2008 along Anlaby Road & Springfield Way between Hull City Centre and the village of Anlaby. The project will run annually to help steadily increase the highway tree population that is of vital importance to our area for its amenity, landscape and nature conservation value.
