The future of the Yorkshire Wolds in focus

CPRE are to host a conference to consider the future of the Yorkshire Wolds. The conference will open with a report on research by the consultants Bowles Green detailing their findings as to maximising the potential of the Yorkshire Wolds in terms of economic growth while at the same time seeking to preserve the attractions of a very special landscape.

Expert speakers will cover the economic potential of the Yorkshire Wolds including the visitor economy, the value of nature tourism, farming and estate management, countryside recreation and access, heritage and archaeology.

At the end of the conference it is hoped that a strong partnership can be formed from interested parties with the aim of developing and delivering a wide ranging action plan for the future of the Yorkshire Wolds.

The conference will be hosted by the East Riding branch of the Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE), to whom applications for places should be made. Further information is available from mrc@damaskend.karoo.co.uk. Please note places are limited.
